Md. Arifur Rahman did his graduation in Civil Engineering from Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology in 2017.
Professional Track Record
Md. Arifur Rahman has worked as a professional in the field of water resources engineering for more than five years at the Institute of Water Modelling (IWM). On 22 January 2019, he started working as a Junior Engineer at Survey and Data division. He has experience planning and managing a wide range of engineering surveys including topographic and bathymetric surveys as well as other hydrological data collection techniques like water level monitoring. Since July 2019, he has been employed with the Coast, Port and Inland Waterways Management division (CPI), where he has contributed to multiple major projects. He is responsible for conducting pre-feasibility and feasibility studies, implementing and monitoring studies for flood management, river engineering, coastal engineering, navigation, inundation map for flooding, impact assessment of climate change, determination of Standard High-Water Level (SHWL) and Standard Low Water Level (SLWL) nationwide etc. He has experience working in the CPI Division with 1D and 2D modelling with MIKE software. He is knowledgeable in the hydrodynamic and hydrological modelling sectors, polder water management as well as climate change projection. He is proficient in a variety of software such as ArcGIS, AutoCAD etc.
