Professional Track Record
Farhana Khadiza Liana has been working as a professional in the field of water resources engineering for more than Eight years at the Institute of Water Modelling (IWM). Since joining the Coast, Port & Inland Water Ways Management Division (CPI) as a Junior Engineer on 16th July 2016, She has played a significant role in various major projects. Her responsibilities embrace for developing, calibrating, and running models to predict storm surge impacts, analyzing and communicating results, supporting risk assessment and decision-making, collaborating with various stakeholders, and continually improving modeling practices. This role is vital for enhancing coastal resilience and ensuring effective preparedness and response to storm surge events. Her responsibilities involve a deep understanding of various scientific and technical aspects, as well as practical experience in applying models for real-world scenarios. Also encompass conducting pre-feasibility and feasibility studies, and implementing and monitoring studies related to flood management, river engineering, coastal engineering, navigation, climate change and inundation mapping for flooding. Farhana Khadiza Liana specializes in data processing, analysis, and visualization using MS Excel, ArcGIS, Autocad and python. She has expertise in developing rainfall-runoff models with NAM, hydrodynamic modeling with MIKE11, and storm surge modeling with MIKE21.
