Academic Chronology
Md. Jafrul Islam graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in 2018.
Professional Track Record
Md. Jafrul Islam has dedicated over five years to the field of water resources engineering at the Institute of Water Modelling (IWM). Since his appointment as a Junior Engineer in the Coast, Port & Inland Water Ways Management Division (CPI) on January 22, 2019, he has made substantial contributions to a range of major projects. His responsibilities include conducting pre-feasibility and feasibility studies, and overseeing projects focused on flood management, river and coastal engineering, navigation, climate change, and inundation mapping. He excels in data processing, analysis, and visualization, utilizing tools such as MS Excel, ArcGIS, and Python. Additionally, Md. Jafrul Islam is skilled in developing rainfall-runoff models with NAM, performing hydrodynamic modeling with MIKE11, and conducting storm surge modeling using MIKE21.
