PROFILE DESCRIPTIONS
Mr. Muhammad Abdullah is an expert in water supply and sanitation, with extensive experience across urban, semi-urban, and rural areas in Bangladesh. His work includes significant contributions to major city water supply systems, such as those in Dhaka, Khulna, Chattogram, Rajshahi, and Sylhet, where he has managed and designed over 300 District Metered Areas (DMAs) and water distribution systems. He has also played a vital role in water supply and sanitation projects in towns, municipalities, low-income communities, Rohingya camps, and coastal regions.
Throughout his career, Mr. Abdullah has been involved in all phases of project development, from initial proposal preparation and feasibility studies to detailed design and implementation. His technical expertise includes water demand assessment, water source selection, DMA demarcation, and hydraulic modeling using tools like WaterGEMS. He has also worked on the hydraulic design of small-scale and conventional water treatment plants, and sanitation systems.
In addition to his technical contributions, Mr. Abdullah has actively participated in training and knowledge-sharing events, both domestically and internationally. His expertise in water supply was recognized in ADB-funded projects in Nepal, where he provided expert insights to Kathmandu Valley water services. He has also engaged in knowledge exchange programs in the Philippines, furthering his understanding of global challenges and solutions in both water supply and sanitation sectors.
