Academic Chronology
He completed his B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) in 2019. He is currently pursuing his M.Sc. in Civil Engineering (Environmental) at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).
Professional Track Record
Mr. Sifat started his career as the lead of environmental thematic area for Youth for Change Bangladesh in 2019. Joining at IWM in 2022, he has been working on the field of irrigation and hydrology, with extensive experience in water resource management. Prior to that he worked as research associate in a project collaborated by Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) and Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU). He is currently involved in diverse projects ranging from solar energy-based irrigation development to comprehensive studies on integrated water resource management. His expertise includes promoting efficient irrigation technologies, conducting feasibility studies for surface water conservation, and implementing sustainable restoration strategies for wetlands across Bangladesh. His work is pivotal in addressing water resource challenges and improving livelihoods through innovative and strategic planning.
